All foreigners, except Indians, require a visa to visit Nepal. Most foreigners can get an on-arrival visa at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. To get an on-arrival visa, you need to have a passport with at least six months of validity, two passport-size photos, and an application fee. The application fee depends on the length of stay. The current rate is USD 50 for a 30-day stay. Please visit the www.immigration.gov.np portal for detailed information.
Bookings are confirmed with a 10% deposit, with the balance payable on arrival inKathmandu. You can pay in cash, bank transfer, and credit card (4% extra). Please visit our specific trek page for booking.
Yes. Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory. In most cases, your insurance must cover health care and emergency helicopter evacuation costs up to the highest trek altitude. Please call your insurer and make sure that your insurance covers helicopter evacuation.
Nepali Rupees (NPR) is the legal currency in Nepal. You can exchange major currencies (USD, GBP, Euro) to Nepali Rupees at banks and authorized money exchangers in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and other cities. However, we advise you to exchange currency in Kathmandu. You can also withdraw money from many ATMs in Kathmandu, but you might have to pay service fees.
